Lead Explorers creates custom experience-based global family trips from 1-week to 1-year in length.

After a year on the road with her own family in 2010, Dana wanted to share (and re‑live!) the lessons learned and the excitement of a global adventure, discovering the far reaches of our world. Experiencing, not just sight‑seeing. Making children citizens of the world. Family travel, particularly to places that are sometimes outside our comfort zones, can create the best bonding of all.

Our Process

Dana and her husband took their four children (14, 12, 11, 11) to all seven continents for a full year in 2010. That experience exposed hundreds of do’s and don’ts that are incorporated into the Lead Explorers at every step of the design process – for every client. That field-honed expertise helps in designing all trips, from a one-week school holiday trip to a full-year global sabbatical, or anything in between.

Who We Are

Lead Explorers exists because we love family adventures and how they change us all forever.

Dana White

Founder

Dana is an avid explorer and does this because she wants others to have the same kind of life-changing global adventure she and her family had (see www.6explorers.com). Dana serves on international cultural boards, has been in high technology marketing, investment banking and motherhood, and is part of the Serandipian global network through Traveller Made.

That network awarded her the Idolon Award for Most Thorough Travel Designer, 2024, building on her 5 years at the top level of travel design. She is also a Senior Lecturer at MIT Sloan School of Business, teaching first-year MBAs about leadership and organizations. Dana holds a B.S.E. in E.E./Computer Science from Princeton University and an MBA with high distinction from Harvard Business School.

Reis White

Travel Consultant & Digital Operations Manager

Reis is a passionate traveler who caught the travel bug on his family’s 2010 odyssey and has since embarked on everything from domestic cross-country road trips to solo explorations abroad. He channeled his global curiosity into studying Linguistics and French at Princeton University, graduating Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 2023 before joining a high-paced tech startup to sharpen his business skills.

He left that role in early 2025 to pursue paths more aligned with his interests and began consulting with Lead Explorers to share first-hand insights on specialized cities and regions, helping craft family journeys from a younger perspective and keeping the family ethos of Lead Explorers alive.
